EN : We are big fans of the 3 pin (75mm ) system. This boot binding combination is sturdy, offers great ski control, is light, and tours really well. They are also plentiful and inexpensive. If you have some classic old leather Asolos or Merrells (or Fabiano's, Scarpas, Heierlings, Alicos...) and some 3 pins, Hoks are a great way to put them to use. This year we are offering a Heel Piece Kit. The kit includes the custom heel pieces, designed to use inserts in the ski for no drill mounting, and adjustable to fit any size 3 pin boot. Along with the heel pieces, all the machine screws for mounting your 3 pins are included, along with a packet of threadlocker to keep the screws from loosening in the inserts. Screw size is M6 (6 mm) and lengths are 16 mm for the heel pieces and 12 mm for the toe pieces. This is an inexpensive and effective way to get going on a pair of Hoks.

There are two types of 3 pin bindings with different hole patterns. We sell the heavy duty ones (called tele norm) that were introduced in the mid 80s with the resurgence of telemark skiing. they have a longer (more spread out) hole pattern and take boots with a thicker toe tab (the ‘duck bill’ on the front of the boots). The new heavy duty backcountry boots by Fischer, Alpina, and Rossignol also have this thicker toe tab.

FR : Nous sommes des mordus du système à trois pointes (75 mm). Cette combinaison botte/fixation est robuste et assure un excellent contrôle tout en étant légère et bien adaptée à la randonnée. Ces systèmes sont également faciles à trouver et abordables. Si vous possédez de vieilles chaussures classiques en cuir Asolo ou Merrell (ou encore des Fabiano, des Scarpa, des Heierling, des Alico…) et une fixation à trois pointes 75mm, le Hok est une bonne façon de les remettre au travail. Pour ce faire, nous offrons également un ensemble de talonnières. Cet ensemble comprend la talonnière adaptée, conçue pour être installée dans les inserts M6 du ski (ce qui évite d’avoir à percer des trous) et adaptable à toutes les pointures de chaussures à trois pointes. En plus de la talonnière, nous fournissons toutes les vis mécaniques (M6) nécessaires pour installer votre fixation à trois pointes, ainsi qu’un emballage d’adhésif de freinage pour filets, afin d’éviter que les vis se desserrent à l’utilisation. Les vis sont de type M6 (métrique 6 mm), d’une longueur de 16 mm pour la talonnière et de 12 mm pour la butée. Il s’agit d’un système abordable et efficace pour commencer à utiliser ses Hok.
